In 2017 Anushka made her modelling debut in the Wendell Rodricks' Les Vamps Show at Lakme Fashion Week and was selected by Rodricks to be the finale model at the Spring Summer 2007 Collection. Her modeling career started at Lakme Fashion Week in 2017. She has since done numerous campaigns, which include campaigns with Fiat Palio & Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka joined an acting class and started auditioning for films along with the modeling profession. In 2008, Anushka Sharma made her acting debut with the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan. She took one day to get ready for her screen test and was unable to do an impromptu version. She was later contracted to do three films with the Yash Raj Films label. The role she played was that of an unwed bride and tied to a man who was middle aged (the role that Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was in 2010's "Badmash Company" together with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang, Vir Das. The movie received mixed critiques. Anushka appeared in a film named Band Baaja Baaraat, starring Ranveer in which she portrayed the role of a middle-class who starts her wedding planning business. It received favorable reviews and turned out to be a sleeper hit. Anushka had completed her three-film contract together with Yash Raj Films.
